Synergy Race is an "amazing race" styled teambuilding programme that we have run at least 175 runs as of end 2008. We have run variations of this game in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia (Batam and Bintan islands).
There are various reasons why this game is so popular with our clients:
Customisable Team Building Objectives
For our clients who have specific training objectives, we are able to easily customise this game to bring out those objectives. Participants are challenged with differnet team building tasks at each station. Each task can bring out a different learning objective, for example, leadership, communication, creative thinking and trust.
The variety of station tasks also means that the different mini-games will appeal to different personalities. Some tasks can be based on logical thinking and other based on bodily kinesthetic intelligence (people who are good with physical sports/ agile or are nimble with their fingers).
For our clients that just want to team bond and have fun, we can even incorporate cultural elements to let them experience the diversity of Hong Kong's culture.
There are several variations of this game and some of them can be "weather proof", meaning you will need a back up venue for this game even though it is, strictly speaking, an outdoor event. As a wet weather back up, all the check points can be shifted to sheltered areas.
Multiple Locations, Multiple Themes
This game can take on various forms, it can be played at a park (i.e. on foot) or it can be done via public transportation or it can be done with private vehicles (participants car pool).
If budget permits, we can even do a day trip to Macau. Again, the race in macau can be via public transportation or chartered mini buses.
The race can also be done inside a resort or even large city hotel. Over the years, we've had opportunity to run this game on foot, in private vehicles or using public transportation in Langkawi (Malaysia), Berjaya Times Square Resort (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Batam & Bintan (Indonesia), Macau, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Having conducted this game in various cities and venues, we are confident of organising this for you. Of course having a race on foot will cost lesser than having one using private vehicles or public transportation over a larger area due to the complexity of organising the programme.
Some of the differnet themes that this game can adopt includes Spy Games, Criminal Investigations, Food Race, Tourist Attractions & Cultural Race.
Teams are required to complete the race within a stipulated time and the competitive element does make the race more exciting.
Our race system has been fine tuned over time and we have systems in place to ensure participation from all team memebers. Our staff will also check attendance at each station to ensure that teams travel together.
Some common learning outcomes of this activity includes:
Being open to change
Attention to details
Importance of documentation
