In 2003, Alvin’s strong fervour for helping people accept their differences and collaborate to achieve common goals led him to venture into a professional training career, where he can continually and fuel this passion.
Alvin has since conducted training sessions and retreats in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, for various organisations, with group sizes ranging from 5 to 350 participants per session. His vast experience is garnered from working with participants in diverse positions, from executives, managers and country managers to CEOs, COOs & CFOs in MNCs, including participants from America, Australia, Austria, China, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, U.S.A. and Vietnam.
Alvin has had the opportunity to train in an extensive range of industries including education, energy, chemical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, banking, non-profit organisations, and government and service sectors. Some of the clients, include APEC Secretariat (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation), Bayer, Deutsche Bank, GE Medical Systems, Lenovo, Tetra Pak and VISA.
With his dedicated team of like-minded co-workers, Alvin has developed indoor training games and outdoor teambuilding activities, which are immensely popular with and well received by corporations like CapitaLand, Citibank and Hewlett Packard, and Singapore government agencies like Civil Service College and the Ministry of Defence. Training topics covered include team building, motivation, creative thinking and DISC personality styles. He also had the opportunity to chair brainstroming sessions with level leaders in the selection of vision, mission and values statements for their organisation and departments.
Besides holding a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Alvin is also one of very few individuals in Singapore to be conferred the Certified Behavioural Analyst (advance qualification) certification by the world’s largest publisher of customised behavioural and motivational resources, the Institute for Motivational Living, Inc. As such, he is fully qualified and authorised to administer, score and interpret the profile instruments of The Personality System™ in the provision of consulting, of training and general counsel.
His expertise in behavioural analysis renders him the ability to help others maximise strengths and minimise weaknesses, enhance communication and relationships, and develop focused and motivated teams.
Alvin's informal approach allows participants to relax and shed their inhibitions during training sessions. His methodology of experiential learning further instils the intended learning values, so participants take away a richer and more gratifying retrospection of the session.
